YOGA

I teach yoga as a ritual in which we retrieve and revive parts of ourselves and study and celebrate being embodied. Through this artful practice, we can unbind both physical and emotional knots, and reestablish a sense of basic goodness.

My teaching is non-dogmatic and disciplined. Through years of consistent study and practice, I offer classes that are bio-mechanically sound, nuanced, and probe the depths of the relationship between the human body and psyche. I teach practices that are accessible and engage students in learning to guide themselves.

I have been teaching since 2005, and have been trained in several systems. I have taught in yoga schools, studios, jails, public schools, detention centers, settlement houses and in hospitals. I have also taught in many teacher trainings, and enjoy working with new teachers to deepen their relationship to yoga.
